The Power of Sculling

For anyone who’s ever been part of a rowing club or participated in crew, explaining what it’s like to row or scull might well be described as something close to nirvana, a transcendent kind of “happy place” that comes from connecting with the river in one continuous movement in concert with one’s fellow rowers.

At Rochester Community inclusive Rowing we believe rowing should be available to EVERYONE.

Born out of a love for the sport of rowing, the robust physicality of it and the peaceful experience of being on the water, RCiR offers non-competitive, INCLUSIVE rowing opportunities.

We provide a welcoming place to learn a new skill, to have fun, and to grow in a supportive community.

RCiR exists to provide a supportive, inclusive & accessible environment for Vets and anyone with any challenge who wants to come to the water to learn to row.

WE’VE BUILT
THE FIRST INCLUSIVE, ADAPTIVE, ADA COMPLIANT, SCULLING CENTER IN THE COUNTRY, WHERE “NO ONE PAYS AND NO ONE GETS PAID.”

This one-of-a-kind center is a place where people with big open hearts and a love of rowing come together to help our Veterans as well as those who might otherwise have a barrier to the sport. In this supportive environment, everyone can feel safe to be who they are so they can focus on their abilities, build confidence and find joy in the process!

Help us continue to grow!
